Yutree Insurance appoints Finance Director along with flurry of new recruits
Award-winning independent insurance brokers and underwriting agency, Yutree Insurance Ltd, are pleased to announce Becky Glover has joined the board as Finance Director, positioning the company for its next stage of growth and transformation. Prior to joining Yutree, Becky was Finance Director of a software technology company in Cambridge and has recently been crowned Finance Director of the Year at the Accounting Excellence Awards.
Yutree Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Hancock, said, “I am very pleased to welcome Becky to the board as director of finance at such an exciting stage in our growth plan. She has an impressive track record and brings with her a wealth of experience from outside of the insurance industry. This is the first time we have appointed a Finance Director and is a sign of our growing presence in Newmarket that we have been able to attract someone of Becky’s calibre to this important new role.”
Becky’s appointment is the latest in a series of new recruits joining Yutree, which also include Client Executive Jo Hocking and Finance Adminstrator Karen Andrew, along with our new apprentices.
Yutree pioneers insurance apprenticeship scheme
Danny Elvin joins as Underwriting Apprentice having previously been a crew member at McDonald’s Newmarket and Mia Atkins joins as Broking Apprentice after 3 years in a hospitality role.
Both successful applicants to the programme were interested in undertaking an apprenticeship as a way to learn and expand their skillset whilst gaining practical work experience to develop a career in insurance with a structured pathway.
Managing Director of Yutree Insurance, Laura Hancock said, “We are delighted to welcome both Danny and Mia to the Yutree family. Having successfully integrated a number of apprentices into our business I’m pleased we’re now in a position to expand our programme and support a new generation of self-motivated, talented people that are keen to develop a career in insurance.”
The Level 3 Certificate in Insurance is a core qualification for insurance professionals across all sectors of the industry. The apprenticeship develops core knowledge and confidence of key disciplines needed before the learner focuses their subsequent studies and specialisms according to their ambitions and career requirements.
Laura added, “As a people-led business, attracting, retaining and developing individuals at every stage of their career is a really important part of our growth plan. Our apprenticeship scheme supports our belief that you don’t need a degree to enter our profession and as Charted Insurance Brokers we’re proud of the path we allow everyone in our team to follow, in order to gain professional qualifications combined with hands-on work experience.”
