The Chartered Insurance Institute has today launched the Society of Insurance Broking (SIB), designed to push further professionalism in the insurance industry.
The aim of the Society is to create a dedicated professional body for those working in the insurance broking sector, offering an enhanced member experience to better engage with those in the sector.
It’s core objectives focus on raising professional standards, creating a culture throughout the industry promoting good practice and guidance, thought leadership and a dedicated programme of continuous professional development.
The Board is made up of leading industry professionals and will be chaired by Suffolk businessman, Yutree Managing Director, Kevin Hancock.
Yutree Managing Director and Chair of the SIB, Kevin Hancock, said, “I’m delighted to have been appointed the first Chair of the SIB and am looking forward to working with industry colleagues to drive increasing professional standards throughout.”
Yutree, based in Kings Court, Newmarket provides insurance advice and protection to clients locally and throughout the UK.
Mr Hancock is a Chartered Insurance Broker and also chairs the Broker Panel nationally for Pool Re, the UK’s Government-supported terrorism reinsurer. He sits on the committee of the Newmarket Festival, organising fundraising events for local charities. He is also shortly to launch Anglia Business Club as a new networking club for local businesses.
The appointment further adds to Yutree’s desire and commitment to influence the insurance industry.
Kevin added, “Together with our trade association, BIBA, where fellow Yutree Director Laura High sits on the Board, Yutree has a prime seat on the two main industry Boards to help to influence and shape our profession.”
